Have you ever felt stuck in the therapy loop without seeing substantial changes in your daily life? Join us on the latest episode of the “Stop Shoulding All Over Yourself” podcast, where we delve deep with the luminary Sherri Damon, founder of FLIHH and a psychotherapist with a fresh take on healing.
In this conversation we unpack:
- The limitations of traditional talk therapy 🗣️
- Bridging the gap between therapy sessions and daily life 🌉
- Sherry’s innovative, holistic approach to wellness at her therapeutic farm 🚜
April 2018 I hit a therapy wall, realizing that something had to change in my approach to well-being. It wasn’t just about attending therapy; it was about living the insights and learning in my daily routine. That was a tough pill to swallow – that simply talking wasn’t going to be enough for me.
Similarly, Sherri’s journey began from a place of personal realization – leading her to cultivate not just a therapeutic space but a living, breathing ecosystem of healing at FLIHH. It’s a space where you get to experience:
- Yoga sessions that harmonize your mind and body 🧘
- Sound bath healing for the soul 🎵
- Thai massages that rejuvenate you from within 🌿
Reflecting on the initial connection we forged through the South Shore Women’s Business Network, Sherri and I share anecdotes, laughs, and that immediate feeling of “yes, this dude totally gets it.“
So, if you’ve been feeling like you’re stuck in the self-help loop without really moving forward, or you’re just starting your wellness journey, tune in to glean some golden nuggets of wisdom and possibly discover a fresh, real, and tangible pathway to holistic healing.
Catch this vibrant and enriching conversation that’s all about bringing the spirit of practical transformation into your life. Stay tuned and stay vibrant, my peeps! 🌟

Sherri’s Bio
The Foundation for Learning and Inspiring Health and Healing, FLIHH, was founded by a multiple state licensed psychotherapist, writer, teacher and leader of a dynamic team with decades of experience using holistic practices for individual, group and family counseling, training, wellness consultation, and workshops/retreats. FLIHH promotes the need for improvements in health and mental health care! FLIHH provides wellness teaching and treatment for eating disorders and a multitude of mental health conditions for all ages and genders. The founder’s strength-based, CBT, animal assisted, mindfulness and meditation strategies are used her authored COPER™ Model which is designed to teach skills, support health and healing and increase awareness. The current healthcare system IS NOT working: Illness recovery and wellness promotion requires the creation of a positive fill, changing negative thinking patterns and moving from soothing or distracting with non-adaptive strategies to positive health strategies as well as recognizing that healing is a circular process for all beings and the planet. The 5 Model elements, Connection, Optimism, Play, Empowerment, Resilience are interconnected, practical, and holistic in approach. Connect with animals, other beings, nature, and self. Optimize thinking. Play through nurturing, sensory, yoga, and meditation. Empower through unique therafarming activities and build Resilience by recognizing what strengthens you and developing a positive, lifelong wellness plan. Butterflihh Farm MA, a tiny site, where rescue animals, gardens, and connecting with nature are central to the learning, proves that this model works but more time and space is required. FLIHH continues to build programs like our EMERGE customizable enhanced outpatient program for eating disorders to respond to the significant mental health care needs, but funding, time and resources all present significant challenges. Butterflihh Wellness Eco-Sanctuary CA will be a healing and retreat center where a COPER™ Model journey to wellness occurs by immersing in an inspirational place. By taking part in an extended stay whether beginning the road to recovery or looking to develop long lasting wellness strategies, each attendee can experience and learn the transformative power of being one with the earth. This ability to stay and learn allows for the development of patterns of thinking, feeling and living that will last long after departure while also establishing a connection to a support team for aftercare. The eco-sanctuary will be woman owned, green-built, home to more rescue animals, offer some free workshops, opportunities for students and people with disabilities to learn through volunteerism and foster a commitment to healing people and our planet. Building will cost several hundred thousand dollars. FLIHH creates partnerships with local human service agencies, environmental care and numerous health and wellness providers in MA and CA. FLIHH’s founder volunteers on local coalitions and Boards to foster connections and teaches at a small, diverse college (Cambridge College).
